I first met Jessica and Edgar at the Marcus Whitman Bridal Show back in January. They stopped by my booth, and what started as a quick hello turned into an easy, genuine conversation. Fast forward, and there we were standing on the green of Wine Valley Golf Club, surrounded by wide-open skies and the most breathtaking view of the Walla Walla Valley.
Their wedding day carried all the anticipation and joy that comes with early spring in Eastern Washington—a little uncertainty in the forecast, a lot of hope, and endless smiles. The weather had us all guessing right up until the morning of (there was even talk of snow earlier that week!), but instead, we were greeted with sunshine, blue skies, and those dreamy white puffy clouds that looked like they were painted. Yes, it was windy, very windy, but we laughed through it, hair flying and dresses dancing in the breeze, grateful for the light and whatever warmth the sun was trying to provide.
A Wonderful Windy Wine Valley Golf Club Wedding
Just seven miles outside of Historic Downtown Walla Walla, Wine Valley Golf Club offers open, scenic views. Surrounded by rolling hills and the Blue Mountains in the distance, it’s the perfect mix of calm and beauty, and it set the stage for Jessica and Edgar’s early spring wedding perfectly. The wind definitely made its presence known that day, but we joked, and we all agreed we’d take wind over snow any day.
The venue itself is a great blend of rustic and modern. The pavilion features large garage-style doors that can open up to create an easy flow between indoors and outdoors, making it ideal for spring or fall weather that can’t quite make up its mind. And for couples who love to golf, Wine Valley even offers discounted rates for your wedding party, a fun bonus for a weekend celebration.
The ceremony space was simple and timeless: white chairs lined neatly on the green grass, a pair of wooden barrels dressed with flowers framing the aisle, and blue skies as the backdrop. Even with the wind, everything came together beautifully. Simplicity Special Events handled every detail with care.
A Sweet Birthday Surprise
As the reception kicked off, Jessica and Edgar made their grand entrance to a room full of smiles. But right after soaking in all that love, they turned the spotlight in the sweetest direction. It happened to be their niece’s birthday, and instead of letting it pass quietly, Jessica and Edgar made sure she had her own special moment, complete with a birthday cake, gift, and a crowd singing just for her. Watching her beam with joy made my heart melt.
I’ve had a few couples this season whose wedding dates have lined up with a loved one’s birthday, and every time, it’s been such a touching reminder that weddings are about celebrating love in all its forms. I loved seeing how naturally Jessica and Edgar shared their day, making space for someone they care about without taking away from the joy of their own celebration.
As the evening carried on, we snuck out for some sunset portraits that captured that soft golden light spilling across the valley. Then it was back to the dance floor, where the newlyweds shared their first dance under string lights. Jessica and Edgar’s day was everything they are: fun, generous, and full of love.
