While scrolling through Christianson's Nursery & Greenhouse's tagged photos on Instagram, Emma found me. Having done an engagement session at this Mount Vernon wedding venue the previous year, she instantly loved the vibe and appreciated my familiarity with the location. Despite the hot August day, everything about Emma and Stephen's intimate garden wedding was perfect. The private garden where they held their reception provided the ideal nook for a timeless and stunning gathering of their closest friends and family. As they celebrated their love and commitment, the naturally floral-scented air from the surrounding gardens and greenhouse made the day even more magical.
From Portland Beginnings to Seattle Dreams
Emma and Stephen's journey together began in Portland, OR, where they met through mutual friends. After a year and a half of dating, they took a big step and moved to Eugene, OR, so Emma could attend graduate school. It was a challenging period for their relationship due to Emma's demanding schedule and their lack of friends in the new city, coupled with the distance from Steve's family.
After Emma graduated, they relocated to Seattle to be closer to his family. This move was challenging for Emma, as she needed more connections in Washington. During their first year living alone together, the pandemic hit, and they found themselves in a small apartment with an angsty cat. They decided they needed more space and bought an older house in a good neighborhood. Though the house requires a lot of maintenance, they enjoy dreaming up possibilities for their home and garden. They love walking around their neighborhood and cherish the relationships they've built with their new neighbors and Steve's nearby family.
A Poetic Wedding Venue in Mount Vernon
Christianson's Nursery & Greenhouse is the epitome of a dreamy, poetic garden wedding venue. It brings fairytales to life, creating an intimate and stunning vibe. Tucked away in Mount Vernon, this little slice of heaven oozes Bridgerton-inspired garden themes, surrounded by lush gardens, the precious greenhouse, views of Mount Baker, and scenic farmland. This venue is perfect for couples aspiring to have a European garden wedding without leaving Washington State.
On the morning of Emma and Stephen's wedding, Emma and her sister, the maid of honor, went to Pike Place Market to handpick fresh flowers for the bouquets, adding a personal touch to the day. The bride and groom portraits in the greenhouse were absolutely to die for, perfectly capturing the love and magic of their fantastic outdoor wedding day.
