I love this one! Beaver Bark, a locally owned Gift and Garden Center in Richland, WA, holds a special place in my heart. As a plant enthusiast in an area lacking greenery, Beaver Bark comes to the rescue with its fantastic glass greenhouse area. It gives off similar vibes to Christianson's Nursery & Greenhouse in Mount Vernon, WA – my absolute favorite venue to work with. The lush foliage and glass surroundings make it a dreamy backdrop for any plant lover. Bonus: perfect for winter engagement photos without braving the elements. It's a win-win for all the nature-loving couples out there!
TWIN SISTERS ROCK | WALLULA, WA
This gem is just a 25-minute drive from Tri-Cities and 45 minutes from Walla Walla – Twin Sisters Rock is like our hidden paradise. Take a quick hike up the trail, and you'll stumble upon a sandy spot below the rocks (don't miss those tiny lizard tracks if you're observant). Keep going, and you'll hit the peak of a stunning bluff, offering panoramic views of the Columbia River weaving through the basalt plateaus. My go-to time to visit is in the spring and early summer when the wildflowers are in full bloom – it's pure magic. Just a heads up, though: winter winds can get a bit nippy, so bundle up if you plan an engagement session during the colder months!
WALLA WALLA BLUE MOUNTAINS
Hey, mountain lovers. If you love seeing majestic peaks illuminated by the sunset, the Walla Walla Blue Mountains are the perfect spot. They're just a short drive up the mountain from Walla Walla, around 20 miles from the highway. You're in for some breathtaking views. Take a joyride, soak in the scenery, and understand why the blues are a local favorite.
BENNINGTON LAKE | WALLA WALLA, WA
Check out this local spot in Walla Walla, just a 5-minute drive from the Community College and residential area. Diverse scenery includes meadows, trees, a lake, and the bonus – views of the Walla Walla Blue Mountains. With trails around and above the lake, it's a breeze to explore the beauty of small-town Walla Walla and find that perfect spot for engagement photos. Late spring through early winter offers the best views. You'll share the trails with fellow community members, their dogs, and maybe even some horses, but don't worry – with the space Bennington Lake provides, it's never too crowded. Perfect for a laid-back outdoor photo session!
COLUMBIA PARK | KENNEWICK, WA
Spread across 400 acres along the Columbia River, Columbia Park is a diverse retreat with many locations and habitats. Whether you prefer lush green backdrops, tall grassy areas, or a spot to dip your toes in the water during spring and summer, this park has you covered. Come fall, the vibrant orange, yellow, and red leaves create a backdrop for those who adore breathtaking autumn colors. Even in winter, the park maintains its beauty with rocky shore ponds and inviting trails to explore. With something for everyone, it easily earns its place as one of the best locations in our area.
