It all began with a simple Google search and a hope for fun senior photos that felt a little more like her. Yori’s mom stumbled across my work and, as she browsed through my portfolio, she came across a past session at Hot Poop in Walla Walla and instantly knew. This session is exactly why the two-location senior package exists. Honoring both timeless and personal perspectives is so valuable. We planned our first stop at the Walla Walla Public Library, the perfect setting for the classic images every mom holds close. But we also knew that wasn’t the whole story. Yori deserved a space where she could step fully into herself, where her energy didn’t need to be softened or shaped. That’s where Hot Poop came in. A balance of both worlds, thoughtfully chosen, so Yori could feel seen in every sense of the word.

The Library vs. The Vibe Shift at Hot Poop in Walla Walla

The Walla Walla Public Library gave us exactly what we expected in the best way. It was soft, calm, and quietly beautiful. Yori eased into the session gently, offering subtle expressions. These are the images that live in frames and on mantels. But then… we stepped into Hot Poop (not literally, lol). Just like that, everything shifted. It was as if a switch flipped. Yori’s energy lifted, her posture changed, and suddenly there was this spark. She was playful, bold, and completely unfiltered. She started leaning into the moment, throwing out silly faces, experimenting, and laughing effortlessly.

This is the part people don’t always expect: the transformation, and the difference a space can make when it actually fits. At the library, Yori was lovely. At Hot Poop, she was alive in a different way, having the time of her life. That contrast is the whole point.

When Everything Clicks for Fun Senior Photos (And Then Gets Even Better)

Once we settled into Hot Poop, it was her space. Yori has a deep love for music. She plays an orchestral instrument, but there’s a quiet pull she feels toward something a little louder, a little bolder—the electric guitar. So naturally, I suggested we wander over to that section, just to see what might happen. The way she lit up? Immediate.

She picked up a guitar, and suddenly the session took on a life of its own. Then something unexpected happened. One of the employees, the sweetest older woman, came over to check in on us. We got to chatting, and she mentioned her mom had been a photographer. Then, without hesitation, she invited us back into a private room with amps and told Yori to pick out any electric guitar she wanted to use. I’m not exaggerating when I say Yori could have burst from excitement, and I wouldn’t have blamed her. This turned already fun senior photos into something unforgettable. Yori was fully in it. She brought the vibes. I just brought the camera.
